WEDDING FAQs & INFO

Am i available for your date?

these are the dates that I am already booked Here. If it looks like your date is available, please get in touch with the location to check.

do you photograph & film video?

I offer photography only coverage, videography only coverage. AS OF MAY 2024 I WILL NO LONGER Offer COMBINED PHOTO/VIDEO.

For video I prefer to use a lot of hand held footage along with some footage from cameras on a tripod or a gimbal.

what is included in the wedding package? AND WHAT DOES IT COST?

To see what is included in the wedding packages please click HERE .

can we arrange a video call?

Yes, I would be delighted to have a chat with you about what you would like to have photographed/filmed and we can arrange a time that suits you.

do you have a contract?

For a wedding it is really important that I provide you with a contract so that we all know where we stand.  Once we have discussed the details of the wedding I will email you the contract. In order to book you will need to confirm acceptance of the terms and conditions via email.  Upon agreement of the contract I will require a 20pct deposit. And that’s it - you’re booked.

what details do we need to give you?

I will require (nearer the date and once you have booked) the timings of the day (the more detailed the better), specific locations & whether you will be able to visit the venue prior to the wedding in case I can meet up with you.

how do we pay you?

You can pay me via bank transfer ( I have a euro account but also use Wise (formerly TransferWise) if you need to pay me from a different currency).  I also accept cash on the day before I begin to photograph.

how do we book?

You can contact me via email franlittlewingphotos@gmail.com or give me a call +33 786 10 49 13 or send me a WhatsApp or complete the form on the contact page

do you offer a pre wedding photo/film session?

Yes, I do however this is offered and not part of the priced package. I believe it is beneficial if we can meet prior to the wedding - for me to meet you and learn something about you which helps me in my photography/filming but also for you to see how I work and feel more relaxed around me on the wedding day which can already be quite stressful.

If the only location for us to meet is more than 45 mins from either where I live or where I am (if I should be in the UK or in the north of france postcode 62520) then travel fees will apply.

is littlewing photos insured and registered?

Littlewing photos is the name I have given my photography business.  I, as an individual am registered as a professional photographer.  My siret number is 85102774800017.    I have professional insurance cover with AXA.

what equipment do you use?

I use five cameras which are Fujifilms (XT5 & XT4S, XT3s as back up) with dual card slots & I have a drone.    I bring with me lots of batteries, battery chargers, SD cards, flashes, back up flashes, video lights, stands, tripod, gimbal, camera lenses, audio recorders - just in case.

what happens if we need to cancel?

If you need to cancel your wedding, once the contract has been agreed upon, you may be liable for a cancellation fee which is set out in the contract.

How do you work?

Throughout the day and especially during the ceremony I will try and remain as discreet as possible (I have cameras which make no shutter sound).  I prefer to take candid photos/video however some direction is necessary.  I very much recommend you have group photos and that these are done straight after the ceremony.  It does not need to take very long.  Weddings are about having fun and celebrating and not about having a long photo session - having said that I will quietly ask you both to come away with me for a 10-20 minute or so couple portrait session when I think the time is right - if that is what you would like.  It is your day.

Do we need to provide you with a meal?

No as I bring my own food however soft drinks or tea & coffee - that would be very much appreciated…….or if a dessert is going spare…..I have been known to have some of that.

what does the gallery look like?

I use Pic-Time to supply you with your images.  Pic-Time galleries are stylish and very easy to use.  You have the choice to buy prints and printed goods directly from the site as well as being able to download high resolution images.

How long is it before we receive our gallery?

I aim to edit the photos and film as soon after the wedding as possible however there may be some delay due to editing workload, being out at weddings, or travelling to & from weddings which are further than a few hours drive. Weddings at the beginning of the season are more likely to receive their photos and/or films within a month. Those at the end of the season my have to wait between 2-3 months.

What can we as the couple do to make sure we get great photos & video?

Well there are a couple of things that can help and I do recommend watching a behind the scenes video of a wedding photographer or videographer on YouTube:

  • A phone/tablet ban during the ceremony including the processional/recessional. Guests stand/lean in the aisle and can block the photographer/videographer from getting the shots/footage you are paying us to capture. I’ve seen guests concentrate on the photos & films they are taking rather than the importance of the ceremony.

  • Light/lighting - for photography and video it is all about light. Badly lit rooms or rooms with lots of different light temperatures can affect your photos/film. There will be times when I may switch off interior lights or direct you to move closer to a natural light source to get a better photo/film footage.

  • Bride Prep - think about including a bit of time for a bride portrait once you are in your dress and before you leave for the ceremony. What can often happen is the bride puts the dress on at the last minute and then the portrait is hurried. Much better to have a bit of time to get used to the dress and adjust anything that requires it. It will also please your photographer/videographer!

Another thing to remember is if the preparation rooms are in a state of disarray (which is normal) I will do my best not to show this but much better if people are nominated to keep things as clear as possible which will enable more movement and use of the room from a photography point of view.

  • The Ceremony - if one bride/groom is arriving after the other bride/groom the most important thing is not to rush towards the aisle…please - no 200m world record attempts. Take your time. This will allow me to photograph/film your arrival whilst also being able to photograph/film the bride/groom waiting for you.

  • Following the ceremony - guests will want to take photos and videos using their phones/tablets etc. however if I am there and am directing you, please make sure you look my way and not theirs. Sometimes I like to photograph the guests photographing you.

  • First Dance - if this is something that you are going to do then please help out your photographer/videographer by occasionally looking their way…….thank you!

  • Posture - the best advice is to just tell you to relax but things to think about are not pulling in your chin, think about the placement of your hands, think about keeping your arms just away from you body, think about placing the weight on one foot with the other leg slightly relaxed.

  • JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FUN!
