domaine le castelet wedding
This is a most beautiful venue. Secluded yet not too far from Castres, it boasts a tree lined avenue which winds down towards a restored manor house complete with a large pool and surrounded by forest. A short walk from the house to a collection of stone buildings which form a U shape around a terrace with mature olive trees leading onto a lawn bordered by tall oaks. This venue is special.
It was without doubt an absolute pleasure to photograph L & J.
Being the first time that I had met the couple they were by the pool with their family and friends and all were completely relaxed.
It has to be said that L was the most laid back bride without any hint of stress. The wedding day unfolded the way it unfolded - it was not tightly stitched up into a strict list of timings. It was an old fashioned wedding - old fashioned in the sense that it was all about the coming together of a couple wanting to make a commitment in front of family and friends. It was quite simply beautiful. The tree filtered light, the heat, the cypress trees, the relief from the sun and heat within the high ceilinged, high windowed rooms, the three olive trees that flavoured the scene with a mediterranean feel, the string lights hung between two oaks and which softly illuminated the dinner under the stars. And the sky was full of them.
A little p.s. has to be added to say that L & J allowed plenty of time to get photos of them as a couple and for bride portraits. And I LOVED having the opportunity to do this. Thank you to them (and the friend of L who was a great help).
Note - no images to be taken from this site and used without the permission of either the bride or myself.
